Won best Actress at Montreal International Film Festival, for Claude Chabrol's "Merci pout le Chocolat", the sixth collaboration (after "Violette Noziere", "Une Affaire de Femmes", "Madam Bovary", "Le Ceremonie", "Rien ne va plus") between this director-actress golden bond.

Attended at Cannes Film Festival in May, for "Les Destinées Sentimentales" by Olivier Assayas in Official competition, and "Saint-Cyr" by Patricia Mazuy in "Une Certain Regard".

Attended at Venice Film Festival in September, for "Comedy of Innocence" by Raoul Ruiz in official competition, and "Merci pour le Chocolat", by Claude Chabrol in Hornor Presentation. Chabrol was also one of Jury members, which were lead by Italian film director Bernardo Bertolucci.

With her daughter, Lolita Chammah of 16 year-old, cast by occasion, in "La Vie Moderne" by Laurence Ferreira Barbosa. The film was shot in the summer of 1999 and was released in March 2000 in France. Lolita's photo was on the cover of "Caheirs du Cinema" of the same month.

Isabelle played "Medee" at Festival d'Avignon in July 12, 2000, which had a huge success. After shooting "La Pianiste", the play was re-put on in Paris on January 5, 2001, at l'Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe, and followed up a national tour till the end of February. (le Théâtre du Gymnase / Marseille, La Coursive-Scène Nationale de La Rochelle avec la collaboration du Théâtre National de Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées, le concours de l'ADAMI et le soutien de Dexia Crédit Local de France, de Pierre Bergé, d'Yves Saint Laurent et du Centre de documentation Yves Saint Laurent).

Documentary "Une Vie pour Jouer" on Isabelle was shot since April, and trailed on her in the following year. It is directed by Sergi Toubiana, a long-time cheif editor for "Cahiers du Cinema", who conducted many interviews with Isabelle since early 80s.

Isabelle was cast in Michale Haneke's "La Pianiste", which was shot in Vinenna, Austria since middle of August. The film was adapated from Elfirede Jelinek's novel "The Pinao Teacher". Her co-stars are Benoit Magime, and Annie Girardot, who replace Jean Mauceau to play Isabelle's dominant mother in the film.
