Digital Film and Television Production (Comprehensive)

Bachelor of Science

Major requirements (60 hours):

Note: three hours may double count in General Education requirements.

  1. Specific General Education requirement: MED 120(3).
  2. Departmental required courses: MED 130(3), 304(3), 581(3); JRN 407(3).
  3. Public Affairs Capstone Experience will be fulfilled by completion of MED 581(3).
  4. General Mass Media courses:
    1. MED 274(3), 454(3).
    2. Theory–three hours from: MED 355(3), 570(3).
    3. History–three hours from: MED 325(3), 374(3), 375(3).
  5. Digital Film and Television Production courses:
    1. Beginning Production: MED 365(3).
    2. Screenwriting: MED 360(3); three hours from: MED 464(3), 565(3), 566(3).
    3. Audio Production–three hours from: MED 361(3), 382(3), 461(3).
    4. Editing: MED 461(3) or 466(3).
    5. Intermediate Production–nine hours from: MED 383(3), 462(3), 465(3), 466(3), 472(3), 483(3), 582(3).
    6. Capstone Production–three hours from: MED 561(3), 562(3), 583(3).
    7. Six additional hours from MED 300, 470, 492, 595, 597 or any JRN or MED courses.
  6. No course may be used to satisfy more than one requirement within the Digital Film and Television Production major.
  7. Note: Students majoring in Digital Film and Television Production cannot complete a minor in Mass Media. They may select, as an optional minor, Film Studies, Journalism, Screenwriting or any other BS minor.
